FOOD TASTING EXPERIENCE IN ATTICA

OVERVIEW

Day 1: Arrival- Athens delicatessen dinner D
Arrive to Athens and upon arrival meet your local escorts at the arrival hall! Embark to the buses and drive to Athens. Direct transfer to Kolonaki area, where you will visit the local Delicatessen Yolenis. You will have a short guided tour to the building of Yolenis, and the expertise staff will be able to talk to you about local products of Greece and taste some of them. A dinner with traditional Greek tastes will follow.
After the dinner, proceed to the hotel with the bus and the escorts and check in.

Day 2: Wine tasting/ Cheese tasting / B/L/D
Breakfast at the hotel. Meet your escorts and your driver at the reception area and embark to the bus. Today we will move out of Athens, and will visit Nea Marki, in Attica Region. Locally we will visit a winery where we will have the opportunity to experience the wine procedure and learn all about wine production by wandering around the vineyards located next to the winery!
After the tour, we will have a cheese & wine tasting experience, discussing on the combination of tastes etc. Lunch to the winery and in the afternoon return back to the hotel.
Dinner at the hotel, overnight.

Day 3: City centre food tour- Sightseeing/ B/L/D
Breakfast at the hotel. Meet your escorts and your driver at the reception area and embark to the bus, which will take us to the Acropolis Area. Our tour will start with guided tour to the Acropolis Hill, Parthenon and the new Acropolis Museum, by a licenced guide. After the tour, we will walk through Dionysiou Aeropagitou street & Plaka area, passing by the ancient neighborhoods of Athens. We will have the opportunity to taste the traditional Koulouri (the best breakfast for the busy Athenians), see all delicatessen shops selling spices and gourmet cheese & cold cuts. After the walking tour to Varvakeios market (the biggest open market in Greece selling almost everything that has to do with food, all fresh), we will meet our bus at Monastiraki Area which will take us to Acropolis Ami Hotel, where we will have a lunch with traditional tastes while our escorts will explain Athenians’ habits on food! Enjoy Loukoumades dessert and return to the hotel.
Dinner at the hotel, overnight.

Day 4: Traditional Tavern cooking class B/L/D
Breakfast at the hotel and walk to Plaka at a traditional tavern, where the owner Mrs Maria, will show us how to make traditional cheese & spinach pie! Enjoy some of it after we bake it and have lunch to the tavern.
After lunch, free time for shopping with your escorts to Plaka/ Monastiraki & Gazi area, to enjoy the sun, the locals, the open markets. Return to the hotel.
Dinner at the hotel, overnight.

Day 5: Free morning- Check out B
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Transfer to the airport, flight back
