ITINERARY

Itinerary

Day 1:Arrival to Athens international Airport. Your car driver will meet you at the arrival hall and lead you to the car parking. Drive to Athens, check in to your hotel. In the afternoon, your local escort will meet you at the reception of the hotel to have a walking tour around Athens city centre. Your tour will start from Syntagma, move on to Plaka & Monastiraki area, where you will be able to walk around the entire area where there is an open flea market year round, with antiquities, clothes, shoes, books and vinyls! At the end of the walking tour, your escort will lead you to Andrianou Streete, to one of the most classic places to visit, with nice views & really cool atmosphere, where you will taste traditional meze with ouzo or tsipouro at own expenses.

Day 2: Culinary class in the morning at a famous tavern in Plaka area, where a local old cook, will show us how to make spinach pie & cheese pie. Later on your guide will start your food walking tour. Pass by Varvakeios open fish & meat market, traditional Koulouri shop, and the spices area. Should you wish to keep on we would recommend Souvlaki with Gyros at one of the most well-known shops in Greece, just around the corner. Return to the hotel, overnight.

Day 3: Breakfast and meet with your guide who will get you by metro to the train station to pick the train to Thessaloniki. After a 5hour rail journey, passing through several cities and villages, arrive to Thessaloniki. Directly go to Aristotelous Square by bus (no metro/train available in the city) and stop by to one of the most welknow bougatsa places. We suggest bougatsa with cheese and chocolate milk, the best brunch worldwide! Move on to the hotel, check in. After some rest, meet your guide and start the walking tour to the city centre. Pass by the White Tower, renovated seafront area, Aristotelous Square and finish your tour to Navarinou Square & Kamara. This is the most bustling place of the city, meeting place of all students from the surrounding universities, but a paradise of food as well. Do not miss to taste crepe stuffed with all the goods you wish and walk around Navarinou area. Return to the hotel, overnight.

Day 4: Breakfast and direct city tour (with minibus) to Thessaloniki. Visit the Rotonda, Archaeological Museum, the White Tower, St Dimitrios,  and the Ano Poli (the Northern part of the city) where you may have a short photo stop among the ruins of old Thessaloniki. To Ano Poli & “the castle” you will have lunch at a local traditional tavern with local tastes & meze at own expenses. Walk down to the city centre. Rest and in the afternoon, bar crawl to all bustling places and Ladadika! Return to the hotel, overnight.

Day 5: Breakfast at the hotel and pick a mini bus which will lead you to Kavala Prefecture. We will visit a local cheese factory to the suburbs, where the young owners, will explain us the production procedure and we will have cheese and local wine tasting. Further on visit a local pasta shop where the women of the village make their own traditional past. Return to Thessaloniki, free dinner, overnight.

Day 6:Driver will get us to the airport where we will pick a flight back to our starting point (possibly through Athens).
