According to Greek mythology, Europa, the beautiful daughter of the Phoenician king was abducted by the God Zeus, who was in love with her and taken to the place where he felt most comfortable, the island of Crete. Zeus and Europa were married and one of their sons was named Minos, being the name adopted by the oldest and largest European civillisation, namely the Minoan. Crete, rich in scenic beauty, is the largest of the Greek islands and situated in the south eastern Mediterranean.

The images of Crete are very impressive: ones of picturesque villages, tall mountains, gorges of astounding beauty, plains thick with vegetation, the sea smashing fiercely against the rocks on some whilst on other shores gently lapping the sandy beaches which are warm even in winter. The splendour of Crete is so magnificent that words cannot possibly begin to describe it. DAY 1
Arrival at Heraclion airport and transfer to the hotel for a six night stay. Upon arrival at the hotel, welcome drinks are served in the banquet room and the rest of the day is free for exploring the hotel amenities or relaxing by the swimming pool. Dinner at a waterside Taverna feasting on Cretan specialities will be enjoyed in the evening.

DAY 2
After breakfast the conference meeting takes place at the Hotel Conference Rom. During the conference interval a buffet style lunch will be served at the hotel. In the afternoon continue the conference or enjoy some leisure time by the pool or just simply relax. Late in the afternoon transfer to a traditional Cretan village for a Cretan evening for dinner, entertainment and dancing for as long as your feet will hold you!...

DAY 3
Travel to the fishing village of Elounda, to enjoy an ouzo (raki) by the small port, and embark a cique to sail to the island of Spinaloga. You will enjoy a special BBQ lunch at the local tavern there. In the afternoon the caique continues to sail along the crystal-blue water beaches of the Mirabello Gulf. On the return journey, a coffee stop at Agios Nikolaos, to admire this small but beautiful town that has become one of the best known holiday resorts at Crete. Return late in the afternoon with dinner in the evening at the hotel. After dinner try out your dancing skills at the hotel night club.

DAY 4
A day dedicated to relaxing. Activities offered, include: early morning jogging, participating in sports such as tennis, mini-golf and surfing, or swimming and sunbathing and just dreaming in the sun. A buffet lunch will be served at the beach restaurant where one can lunch even in swimming attire. In the evening one can take part in the "moonlight sail" to the island of Dia, with music, dancing and an open bar on board. At the bay of St. George at Dia one can enjoy a Cretan BBQ, sippin raki and local wine, with a wonderful view of the illuminated island of Crete by night. After midnight return to the hotel to retire or to continue dancing all night at the night club.

DAY 5
The morning is free to relax or for a meeting in the conference room with a coffee break. After lunch, in the afternoon depart for a half-day sightseeingtour of the city of Heraklion, with a visit to the Arcaeological Museum and then the Palace of Knossos, the centre of the Minoan civilisation. Return to the hotel for a Greek evening, with a special dinner, Folklore and International show and dancing till the late hours.

DAY 6
Enjoy a full day excursion to Phaistos - Agia Triada, Matala with a visit to Gortys, famous for its legal inscriptions, the Roman amphitheatre and the church of St. Titos. Lunch with time for a swim at Matala, a wonderful fishing village with fine beaches in the south of Crete, will be held. An afternoon visit to Phaistos, the second most important Minoan centre. Late in the afternoon return to the hotel via Agia Triada, where the ruinsof the Royal villa were discovered. In the evening a Cretan farewell GALA DINNER will take place at the Hotel Restaurant accompanied by piano music. After dinner there will be additional entertainment with dancing, prizes, speeches, etc.

DAY 7
During breakfast and prior to your departure, Our company hosts will distribute a gift as a momento of your stay on this magical island. NB: It is possible to take a day cruise to Santorini from Crete, either in addition to the Cretan Extravaganza itinerary, or in place of one of the scheduled days allocated.

Santorini, the crescent shaped, volcanic island, believed to be legendary Atlantis, with its unsurpassed beauty and precipitous cliffs, from whose summit (1200 feet above sea level) one can enjoy a magnificent view of the Aegean as far as the eye can see. One can also visit the "Minoan" excavations or the volcano by boat, and should definitely not miss sampling the local wine. Please be sure to wear comfortable shoes for the trip to Santorini.
